Use a PIN or password — not just a swipe pattern

A 6-digit PIN or strong pattern is much harder to guess than a simple swipe shape.

Keep your PIN/password completely private

Don't share it with friends, siblings, or classmates. It's yours alone.

Lock your phone when you're not using it

Most phones lock automatically after a minute. Enable this in settings.

Log out of shared devices when you're done

Family computer, school tablet, library computer — always log out.

Ask a parent if you need to change settings

Anything in privacy or security settings — check with a parent first.
