Square any 2-digit number with a² | 2ab | b²

The Rule

  1. 1Split the number into digits a (tens) and b (units).
  2. 2Write three parts: a² | 2ab | b².
  3. 3Every part except the leftmost keeps one digit; carry the rest to the left, working right to left.
