Multiply by 101

A 2-digit number times 101 is that number written twice

The Rule

  1. 1n × 101 = n × 100 + n.
  2. 2For a 2-digit number, just write it twice: 57 × 101 = 5757.
  3. 3For bigger numbers, add n to n × 100.
