The Rule

  1. 1Round each messy number to the nearest easy one (49.8% → 50%, 601 → 600, 19.97 → 20).
  2. 2Do the easy calculation.
  3. 3Pick the option closest to your result — the options are spread far enough apart that rounding never changes the answer.
