Paying the fee and sending your application
Most offices accept an Indian Postal Order. Keep copies and receipts of everything — they prove when you applied.
Indian Postal Order (IPO)
A small money order you buy at any post office counter for the fee amount.
Ask at the post office counter for an Indian Postal Order of the fee amount. It costs a little more than its value.
Write the payee as: Accounts Officer, [name of the public authority]
Photocopy the postal order before you send it, and write its number in your application.
Speed Post or Registered Post
Send the signed application, the fee and any copies by Speed Post or Registered Post with acknowledgement — or hand it in and get a dated receipt.
Keep the postal receipt. Photograph it.
Track delivery on the India Post website with the article number on your receipt.
When was it delivered?
The delivery date is when the office received your application — the 30-day time limit starts then.
Open one of your cases first to save the delivery date.
